Omeed Malik, an investment banker and business partner of Donald Trump Jr., has resigned from his position on the Board of Directors of Fannie Mae. The departure was disclosed in a regulatory filing submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Nov. 3, 2026.
According to the filing, Malik notified the company of his resignation on Oct. 30, 2026, with the action taking effect on that same date. The company has not provided information regarding a successor or the specific reasons for his departure.
Malik had served on the Fannie Mae board since his appointment on April 14, 2025, by Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte. His tenure included a seat on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, a role he assumed on Nov. 1, 2025.
The appointment of Malik in 2025 was part of a broader effort to restructure the boards of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac under the direction of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
