Anthropic has launched a new feature called Smart Reports for its Claude Enterprise platform, allowing organizations to analyze how their teams are utilizing the artificial intelligence tool. The feature, which became generally available on Oct. 28, 2026, follows a beta testing period that began on Sept. 10, 2026.
The tool works by reviewing a sample of conversation transcripts to categorize work into specific streams and identify deliverables such as code or documentation. It also calculates the costs associated with these tasks and flags potential inefficiencies, including sessions that produced no usable output or were identified as off-topic.
Data for these reports can cover a timeframe of up to the last 28 days. Organizations are permitted to generate a maximum of 10 free reports each month. The feature is disabled by default, requiring administrators to manually enable it within their account settings.
To address privacy concerns, Anthropic has implemented guardrails that exclude sessions involving sensitive topics, such as health information, protected characteristics, legal complaints, or union activity, from the analysis.
The company stated that these reports are intended to assist organizations in understanding adoption patterns and planning future investments. Anthropic explicitly noted that the tool is not designed for evaluating individual employee performance or for making employment-related decisions.
