Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned on Nov. 2 that Russian forces were preparing a massive offensive against the country's energy and logistics infrastructure. Zelenskyy stated that the timing of the planned strikes was intended to coincide with the U.S. midterm elections on Nov. 3, suggesting that Moscow aimed to divert global attention from the conflict while Ukraine faces challenges with its air defense systems.

In his address, Zelenskyy urged the United States to increase pressure on Russia, specifically regarding oil and gas revenues, arguing that such measures are necessary to force an end to the war. He emphasized that while the Russian leadership may believe the international community will be distracted by the U.S. elections, the ongoing military actions in Ukraine require immediate attention and intervention.
