U.S. intelligence agencies have identified Alice Huang, an executive at the Singapore-based data center firm Megaspeed, as an alleged intelligence asset recruited by China’s Ministry of State Security. Officials allege the recruitment was part of an effort to gather sensitive information on American artificial intelligence semiconductors and to influence Nvidia to bypass U.S. export controls.

Megaspeed has faced scrutiny from U.S. authorities since late 2024 regarding allegations that the firm assisted in the diversion of restricted Nvidia chips to China. Nvidia has previously conducted an internal investigation into these claims and stated that it found no evidence of wrongdoing, maintaining that its business dealings with the firm were standard.

In response to the recent intelligence reports, Nvidia has characterized the allegations as baseless. Regarding the company's security protocols, Jensen Huang has stated that the firm verified that Megaspeed did not illegally divert restricted technology.
