JetBlue Airways has implemented a new round of checked baggage fee increases for tickets purchased on or after Nov. 3, 2026. This adjustment marks the second time the airline has raised these costs this year, following an initial increase in late March.

Under the updated structure for domestic, Caribbean, Latin American, and Canadian flights, the cost for a first checked bag now ranges from $50 to $70, depending on whether the passenger prepays and whether the travel period is classified as peak or off-peak. Fees for a second checked bag have also risen, with costs reaching as high as $85 for peak travel periods if paid within 24 hours of departure.

For transatlantic flights, customers purchasing the lowest Main Base fares will face higher costs as well. The first checked bag fee for these routes has increased to as much as $100 if paid within 24 hours of departure during peak times.

A spokesperson for the airline stated that these adjustments are necessary to manage rising operating costs, specifically citing the impact of higher jet fuel prices. The airline noted that by increasing optional service fees, it aims to keep base ticket prices competitive for its customers.

Certain passengers remain exempt from these new charges, including specific TrueBlue Mosaic members, holders of select JetBlue credit cards, and travelers booked in premium fare classes such as Mint and BlueFirst. Industry analysts suggest that other major U.S. carriers may implement similar fee increases in the coming weeks.
