U.S. Secret Service officers arrested a 26-year-old man near the White House on the evening of Nov. 5, 2026, after discovering multiple firearms and ammunition inside a stolen vehicle.
The suspect, identified as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos, a Venezuelan national who is in the United States illegally, was found in possession of an AR-15-style rifle, a MAC-10, and a Glock 43X pistol. According to authorities, the suspect alleged that voices in his head had instructed him to travel to Washington, D.C., to kill President Donald Trump.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated that officers arrested the suspect before he could harm anyone. Secret Service Director Sean Curran noted that the agency is alarmed by the increase in threat cases that continue to arise against the president and his family since he returned to office.
Records indicate that the suspect entered the U.S. illegally through Texas in March 2024. He remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and faces charges including theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and various weapons-related offenses. He is scheduled to appear in federal court on Nov. 9, 2026.
