A coalition representing the musical interests of Elvis Presley and the publisher of several Eminem tracks have initiated legal action against the artificial intelligence company Suno. The lawsuits allege that the company illegally generates music and lyrics that imitate the style and identity of these artists.
Attorneys representing the Presley estate have asserted that Suno’s operations violate Tennessee law. The plaintiffs contend that the AI platform uses protected content to train its models, resulting in the unauthorized creation of material that mimics the specific sound and vocal characteristics of the performers.
The legal challenge adds to a growing list of lawsuits facing the AI music startup. The plaintiffs are seeking to address what they describe as the unauthorized use of intellectual property in the generation of synthetic audio content.
