During an appearance at the NAR NXT conference in New Orleans on Nov. 6, Reba McEntire shared a personal reflection regarding the late country music icon Dolly Parton. McEntire recounted a specific experience from when Parton served as a guest star on her former television sitcom, Reba.
McEntire noted that Parton dedicated an entire week to being on set with the cast and crew. Reflecting on the gesture, McEntire stated that Parton did not have to commit that amount of time to the production, characterizing the effort as a significant act of kindness.
The two performers maintained a friendship that spanned several decades. McEntire previously described the time spent on the set of her sitcom as the last opportunity the two had to sit down and visit in person.
Parton, who died on Aug. 25, 2026, at age 80, has been the subject of several public tributes by McEntire in recent months, including performances at the 2026 Emmy Awards and a televised celebration of her career in October.
