OpenAI has finalized an initial tranche of $11 billion in new capital, bringing the artificial intelligence company to a valuation of $1.25 trillion. The funds were reportedly wired to the organization as of Friday, Nov. 6, 2026.

While the company has not publicly confirmed the list of participants, reports indicate that the funding round includes contributions from Coatue Management, T. Rowe Price, SoftBank, Sequoia Capital, Founders Fund, Andreessen Horowitz, and a UAE syndicate linked to MGX.

This $11 billion represents the first portion of an ongoing financing effort that is expected to conclude in the coming weeks. The company is reportedly aiming for a total round size of up to $20 billion.

The current valuation reflects a shift from earlier goals, as the company had initially sought to raise at least $30 billion at a $1.4 trillion valuation. These adjusted figures follow a period of cooling interest in AI-related stocks and increased investor scrutiny regarding data center and infrastructure expenditures.

OpenAI previously closed a funding round in March 2026, which raised $122 billion at a valuation of $852 billion. The company has declined to comment on the latest reports, and plans for an initial public offering remain postponed.
