Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff won reelection to the U.S. Senate on Nov. 3, 2026, defeating Republican challenger Mike Collins. The Associated Press called the race less than an hour after polls closed, with Ossoff securing 59.0% of the vote compared to 41.0% for Collins.

The final tally showed Ossoff received 2,463,132 votes, while Collins received 1,711,322. The contest was initially viewed as a marquee showdown and a key pickup opportunity for Republicans, as Georgia was a state won by Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Ossoff was the only Democratic Senate incumbent defending a seat in a state won by Trump in 2024.

Throughout the campaign, Ossoff maintained a consistent lead in polls and a significant fundraising advantage, reporting $136.6 million in contributions compared to $9.7 million for Collins. The Republican challenger faced scrutiny during the cycle, including investigations by the House Ethics Committee and questions regarding staff associations with white nationalist and antisemitic imagery.

During an Oct. 8 debate, Ossoff criticized his opponent, stating, "If John Lewis were marching today from Selma to Montgomery, Mike Collins would be grabbing a billy club." Collins, in turn, framed his platform by stating, "We need a U.S. senator who represents Hollywood, Georgia, not Hollywood, California."

Following his victory, Ossoff remarked on the results, saying, "In sweeping and decisive victories, the American people have rebuked the depravity, corruption, and incompetence of the failed lame duck President Donald J. Trump. Dawn is on the horizon."
