Apple officially launched its updated 14-inch MacBook Pro on Nov. 6, 2026, following an announcement made on Oct. 27. The new device features the M6 chip, which was previously introduced in the Mac mini on Aug. 25, 2026.

The 14-inch model with the M6 chip carries a starting price of $1,999. According to Apple, the new hardware includes a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU, providing up to 30% faster graphics and 25% faster AI performance compared to the previous M5 chip.

Shelly Goldberg, Apple's vice president of Hardware Engineering, described the 14-inch MacBook Pro as a laptop of choice for a wide range of users. Pre-orders for the new model began on Oct. 28, 2026.

Following the release of the M6 version, retailers have begun offering the previous-generation M5 MacBook Pro at discounted prices. A report from Wired on Nov. 8, 2026, suggests that the M5 model remains a competitive option for consumers, raising questions about whether the performance gains of the M6 justify the upgrade for all users.
