Kellogg’s has reformulated its Rice Krispies and Coco Pops cereals in the United Kingdom, replacing whole rice grains with rice flour and corn flour blends.
The updated recipes also involve a change in allergen labeling. Both cereals now contain wheat gluten as an ingredient, whereas they previously only carried a warning about potential cross-contamination. Updated packaging reflecting these changes is currently reaching retail shelves in the U.K.
WK Kellogg Co., which manages the brand in North America, confirmed that these adjustments do not affect products sold in the United States or Canada. Consumers in these markets will continue to receive cereals made with whole rice, as there are no changes to the recipes or ingredients for North American products.
The reformulation comes as the former Kellogg Company continues to operate under its split corporate structure, with Kellanova managing international brands and WK Kellogg Co. overseeing operations in the United States and Canada.
